How Do You Spot an 'HR Amateur'?

I often love Metafilter...and this thread was particularly interesting-click here to read how various professions spot an amateur.
There are a few about new bosses and business in general, but it made me curious-how do those of you that have been in HR for awhile spot a 'newbie'?
